YOUR TASKS

  • The Vessel Superintendents are responsible for the fleet and assists the crew in their daily operation, follow up on and monitor short-and long-term maintenance. In this position you will have the mandate to make purchases of technical supplies and spare parts, work according to our 5-year plan and be responsible for the vessels’ proactive and cost-effective planning.

    The Vessel Superintendents responsibility is also to work within the limits for our annual budget.

    Travelling and supervising on different yards and ports around Northern Europe is a natural part of the work, and you will be a part of our Technical department and included in our duty schedule.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall management of your assigned vessels.
  • Ensure that assigned vessels is always charter-ready and that the crew are adequately supported to maintain the vessel to comply with classification and flag-state requirements.
  • Travelling to assigned vessels on regular basis.
  • Plan vessel maintenance and budget, based on a 5-year plan.
  • Planning and supervising of vessels shipyards and repairs.
  • Carry out regular technical inspections onboard assigned vessels.
  • Responsible for resolving and finalize technical issues for your assigned vessels.
  • Close follow up on the vessel’s maintenance, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate Onboard Engineers for assigned vessels.
  • Responsible to develop and maintain the assigned vessels Planned maintenance system.
  • Close cooperation with Crewing, HSSE-Q, Chartering and Purchase departments.
  • Implementing safety and environmental standards so that the assigned vessels can operate safely.
  • Provide technical support during non-office hours.

YOUR PROFILE

We value personal qualities, and we are looking for a person who see service as a matter of course in your work. You need to be thrilled and motivated by an entrepreneur-driven existence with high tempo. You are good at teamworking and motivating vessel crew. For this role you need to be proactive, flexible and find it motivating to find solutions to different issues that are not always planned. It is important to be able to prioritize and be comfortable with high work capacity.

You have Marine engineer or Master background, preferably from smaller tonnage. You are also a person with in-depth marine experience, preferably obtained from onboard and ashore within the wind or oil-and-gas industry.

In this role you need to be able to travel on short notice but will be stationed at one of our offices in Gothenburg (SE) or Copenhagen (DK). The company also have an office in Conwy (UK).

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Good knowledge of efficient technical operation, development, and upgrade of vessels.
  • Planning skills and ability to implement strategies, plans and procedures into your every day work.
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • People skills and ability to adapt to different situations.
  • Good knowledge of budget planning and procurement.
  • Good knowledge of company management system and ability to apply systems in the daily operations.
  • Manage classification and statutory regimes and related standards, rules and regulations.
  • Fluent in English and one Scandinavian language; verbal and written.
  • Driver’s license.
