DUTIES
Like a Mate, a Deck Hand on board our vessels is first and foremost a member of the deck team. The Deck Hand’s operational responsibility lies in taking care of maintenance on deck and in engine rooms, carrying out internal and external repairs, and ensuring safe transfers on deck. The onboard crews are small, consisting of between two and five crew members, which means that Deck Hands have similar duties to mates. The Deck Hand’s’s duties are delegated by the Mate and Master on board.
YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for highly motivated seafarers. You must have the ability to cooperate with your colleagues and you must also have the ability to express yourself orally and in writing in English. If you are able to handle the German, Swedish, or Danish language this will be a plus. Since taking care of the engines is a part of the job, national engine competence is required such as Motor operation in DK, AEC1 in UK and Engine Officer Class VIII in Sweden.
