YOUR PROFILE
To thrive in this role, you should be driven by an entrepreneurial mindset and energized by a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You excel at teamwork and can motivate and lead vessel crews effectively. You are proactive, and adaptable, and enjoy tackling unexpected challenges by finding practical solutions. Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to manage a high workload are essential.
You hold a Marine Engineer or Master’s qualification, with a preference for experience in smaller tonnage vessels. Additionally, you bring extensive marine experience, ideally gained both onboard and onshore, within the wind or oil-and-gas industries.
REQUIREMENTS
- Marine Engineer, Nautical Officer, or a degree in Logistics and Quality, preferably at the university level.
- Basic planning skills and ability to implement strategies, plans and procedures
- Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Good people skills and ability to adapt to different situations
- A basic understanding of budget planning and procurement
- Basic knowledge of company management systems and ability to apply systems in the daily operation
- Good understanding of classification and statutory regimes and related standards, rules and regulations
- Fluent in English, verbal and written
YOUR TASKS
- Support the Technical Managers with various technical tasks
- Support Vessel Superintendents with daily operation and in addition act as Vessel Superintendent for 1-2 vessels to learn how to master the Vessel Superintendents role
- Follow routines and requirements in the company management system
- Ensuring efficient management of vessel operations, maintenance, repair and dry-docking within budget for selected vessels
- Ensuring that vessels are operated according to class, statutory and national rules & regulations
- Analyzing vessel performance, incl. the effectiveness of the PMS, and implementing improvement measures when required
- In cooperation with other Vessel Superintendents plan onboard engineers’ work tasks and activities incl. evaluating their performance and providing constructive feedback
- Conduct on-site follow-up during yard stays
- Visit vessels regularly to verify technical standards and crew performance
- Member of Company Emergency Response Team
- Coordinate and communicate operational and technical activities within the Vessel Management Team and other relevant parties
- Ensure that the ‘Monthly product area reports’ are completed within the deadline
- Provide technical support during non-office hours
