YOUR PROFILE
Join our team as an Onboard Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of technical maintenance aboard our fleet. This position is ideal for proactive professionals who excel in dynamic, high-stakes environments. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining operational continuity and contributing to our overall success.
Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in marine engineering roles, with a strong background in maintenance and repairs of marine diesel engines.
You are a responsible person who can work independently, likes a good challenge and finds solutions to any problem. You have previous experience as an engineer, motorman or machinist. You have electrical knowledge and its meritorious if you have some knowledge in aluminum welding as well.
At Northern Offshore Services you will be part of an international team, with English as the natural language for written and spoken communication.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and adeptness in resolving technical challenges related to marine diesel engines and systems.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities, essential for effective integration within the technical team.
- Proficiency in English for effective communication, both verbal and written, within our international team environment.
- Solid technical background with expertise in marine diesel engines and related systems.
- Minimum three years of experience in Marine/Offshore/Shipbuilding (preferred).
- Valid driving license category B.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Europe and adapt to irregular working hours.
YOUR TASKS
- Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on marine diesel engines, including troubleshooting and repairs of associated systems such as fuel systems, cooling systems, and propulsion systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive measures to uphold engine functionality and minimize downtime.
- Service Interventions: Execute troubleshooting, modifications, upgrades, and technical follow-ups on diesel engines in operation.
- Fault Diagnosis: Utilize systematic fault diagnosis to swiftly resolve issues and prevent operational disruptions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the technical team to develop and optimize preventive maintenance strategies.
- On-Call Duty: Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to promptly respond to emergencies and ensure vessel readiness.
- Frequent travel across Europe is required.
- Two or three-week shift rotations with corresponding leave periods.
