In this role, you’ll need to be proactive, flexible, and thrive on finding solutions to unexpected challenges. The ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage a high workload is essential.
Ideally, you have a background as a Marine Engineer or Master, with experience in smaller tonnage vessels. In addition, you bring in-depth marine knowledge, gained both on-board and onshore, preferably within the wind or oil and gas industries.
In this role, you will be stationed at one of our offices in Gothenburg (SE) or Copenhagen (DK), but you need to be able to travel on short notice.
REQUIREMENTS
- Good knowledge of efficient technical operation, development, and upgrade of vessels.
- Planning skills and ability to implement strategies, plans and procedures into your everyday work.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong people skills and ability to adapt to different situations.
- Good knowledge of budget planning and procurement.
- Good knowledge of company management systems and ability to apply systems in daily operations.
- Manage classification and statutory regimes and related standards, rules and regulations.
- Fluent in English and a Scandinavian language; verbal and written.
- Driver’s license.
YOUR TASKS
As a Vessel Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the fleet and providing daily operational support to the crew. This includes monitoring both short- and long-term maintenance plans. You will have the authority to purchase technical supplies and spare parts, ensuring that work aligns with our 5-year plan while maintaining proactive and cost-effective planning for the vessels.
You will also be responsible for managing operations within the constraints of the annual budget.
Traveling and supervising work at various yards and ports across Northern Europe will be an integral part of the role. As part of our Technical Department, you will also participate in our on-call schedule.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall management of your assigned vessels.
- Ensure that assigned vessels are always in good condition and that the crew are adequately supported to maintain the vessel to comply with classification and flag-state requirements.
- Travelling to assigned vessels regularly.
- Plan vessel maintenance and budget, based on a 5-year plan.
- Planning and supervising vessels shipyards and repairs.
- Carry out regular technical inspections onboard assigned vessels.
- Responsible for resolving and finalising technical issues for your assigned vessels.
- Close follow-up on the vessel’s maintenance, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
- Coordinate Onboard Engineers for assigned vessels.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining the assigned vessels’ planned maintenance system.
- Close cooperation with Crewing, HSSE-Q, Chartering and Purchase departments.
- Implementing safety and environmental standards so that the assigned vessels can operate safely.
- Provide technical support during non-office hours.
